8 African teams chase the Club World championship berth

2014 Men's African Club championship-

 Sousse, Tunisia, March 25, 2014- Eight African clubs will battle it out for the prestigious FIVB Club World Championship slot when they play their matches in the quarterfinal of the 2014 Men's African Club Championship at Sousse, Tunisia on Wednesday.


 The quarterfinal programme features 8 North African teams from Tunisia (3), Algeria, Libya (2 each) and Egypt (1) making a lot of traditional derbies in that region.


Ten time champions Ahly of Egypt faces Algeria's Bourj Bouaririj who search for their first title. Hosts and 2 time champions Etoile du Sahel (TUN) line up against 2013 Bronze medallists Ahly Tripoli of Libya.


 Six time champions Sfax of Tunisia meet Ahly Benighanzi of Libya in a third famous derby, while 3 time champions Esperance play Setif of Algeria in the last quarterfinal encounter.


 The quarterfinal will now start the knockout stage to determine the winner of the competition which already secures a ticket to the FIVB Men's Club Word Championship in Brazil.
