Ghana and Nigeria, one more step towards Women

 Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire, November 30, 2013- Ghana and Nigeria Women's volleyball teams clinched their tickets to the final phase of the 2014 FIVB Women's World championship after they finished at the top two positions in Zone 3 (Pool O) of African Qualifier held at Forum de l'Université de Cocody in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire this weekend. 

 

Ghana crashed Togo 3-0 (25-15, 25-11,   25-18) for their third consecutive victory in the 4 nation tournament. Ghana claimed the gold medal with a win- loss ratio of 3-0 (8 points).

 

 Nigeria overcame Cote d'Ivoire 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-12) to improve to 2-1 (6 points) to finish second and qualify to the final phase, while Cote d'Ivoire dropped to 1-2 (4 points). Togo finished fourth with 0-3.

 

 Now Ghana and Nigeria will join the first pool of the final phase along with Algeria, Botswana, Cameroon, RD Congo and Egypt
