Zone 1 Pool M- Day 3 Tunisia on more step towards World Championship finals

 Tunis, Tunisia, November 23, 2013- Host Tunisia Men's volleyball team claimed the gold medal at African Zone 1 (Pool M) qualification tournament for the 2014 World Championship after they achieved their second win against Algeria 3-1 (25-15, 25-22, 21-25, 27-25) in the third and final day of the competition held at Rades hall in Tunis, Tunisia on Friday. 

 

Tunisia improved their win- loss ratio to 2-0, while Algeria dropped to 1-1 to claim the silver medal ahead of Morocco who came at the bottom of the table with 0-2. 

 

According to the qualification format, Tunisia already secured a berth to the final round as one of the top three ranked teams in the FIVB World Ranking and will be joined by Algeria as zonal representatives.

 

 Tunisia will head pool 3 in the finals along with Seychelles, Congo Brazzaville, Senegal and Niger, while Algeria will be drawn with Cameroon, Nigeria, Gabon and Zone 5 winner in Pool 1.
