Tunis, Tunisia, March 3, 2013- Favourite teams secured victories in the opening day of the Men's Junior African Nations Championship held at Sidi Boussaid Hall in Tunis, Tunisia on Saturday as host and defending champions Tunisia, Egypt, Rwanda and Morocco went in the right track to start the competition successfully.
 
The opening ceremony was attended by CAVB President Dr Amr Elwani, CAVB Vice President and Local Organizing Committee president Munir Benslimane beside the Control Committee members.
 
 Tunisia pulled off an easy straight sets victory over Sierra Leone (25-11, 25-5, 25-14) in pool A, while dark horses of African Volleyball Rwanda flew past Congo Brazzaville 3-1 (25-16, 25-16, 22-25, 25-15) in the best of the opening day matches.
 
 Pool B featured a wide victory for the last competition runner up Egypt over RD Congo 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-13) while Morocco hammered South Africa 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-23)
 
 The competition acts as a qualifier for the FIVB Men's Junior World Championship to be held in Turkey later this year as the top 4 teams secure their tickets there.
