2018 Men's U21 African Nations Championship- Drawing of lots

Abuja, Nigeria, September 11, 2018- The President of the Confederation of Africa Volleyball, Amr Elwani advised athletes and coaches to respect the decisions of the referees at the U21 Men’s African Nations Championship in Abuja.

Elwani stated this at the technical meeting of the competition held in Abuja.

The Vice President FIVB said, “My advice and wish is that tell your players to respect the decision of the referees. The referees are human and part of our families and there is no excuse”.

“We are very tough in the referee evaluation but I’m proud that Africa have referee officiating at the World Championships. We had two referees at the Olympics and now we have five African referees in the Men’s World Championship”.

“When there is an observation, players should they raise their hands or touch the net; it calms you and the team”.

“You have good players and very tall players; this is the future. If you have any negatives, present it to our host; the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod”, he added.

“I’m very proud of those gathering those players from Africa and they are the future of African Volleyball. We are proud that two World Championships will be held in Africa. This year, we have tall players from Morocco, Tunisia and Cameroon.

“I wish the two teams who will represent at the World Championships all the best”, he said.

He thanked the President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), Engineer Habu Gumel for the support given to Nigeria for accepting to host the great competition
