Ahly players have been rewarded for their efforts in taking their team

Cairo, Egypt, April 6, 2018- Three Ahly players have been rewarded for their efforts in taking their team to gold at the 2018 Men's African Club championship by winning places in the tournament Dream Team.

 

Setter Abdalla Abdelsalam, Middle blocker Mohamed Adel and Outside hitter Ahmed Said were the three chosen players following Ahly's 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-23) win over 2016 Champions El Guish at Ahly Hall in Cairo, Egypt.

 

The gold medal is number 13 for the Egyptian team since the start of the competition in 1980.

 

The veteran setter Abdelsalam was nominated the competition Most Valuable Players "MVP" after his great role in the victory. He was not only the Maestro of the team but also one of the best servers with his well-known spike services.

 

 Ahmed Said played a great role in scoring crucial points from position 4 beside his role to repalce the injured opposite spiker Ahmed Kotb in the final.

 

 Middle blocker Mohamed Adel showed superb performance in blocking as well as in quick attacks from position 3 that made the difference in the crucial matches.

 

 El Guish famous opposite attacker Ahmed Salah was nominated the best server for his great work specially in the semifinal where he scored 6 aces. His colleague Ahmed Drunka was selected the best libero. 

 

 Other players in the dream team were the setter Abdelrahman Daghdana of Swehly who finished fourth, while the best receiver was Adham Usama from Smouha.
