Carthage, Ahly, Prisons and Pipeline through to final four

2018 Women's African Club Championship- Quarterfinals 

 

 Cairo, Egypt, March 12, 2018- Prisons and Pipeline from Kenya, Ahly of Egypt and Carthage of Tunisia confirmed their spot in the semifinals of the 2018 women’s African club championship in Cairo, Egypt following their victories in their corresponding quarterfinal encounters in Cairo, Egypt on Monday.

 

Reigning champions Carthage of Tunisia dominates Egypt’s Shams in an epic 3-1 (25- 8, 20-25, 27-25, 25-23) match up to get their semifinal slot. It was CFC second consecutive win against the Egyptians, as they beat them 3-2 in 2017 finals in Tunisia. 

 

Host Ahly were booked their semis slot after they earned a well-deserved victory against Customs of Nigeria 3-0 (25-13, 25-9, 29-27).

 

Prisons of Kenya beat Rwanda Revenue Authority 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 26-24) victory. Prisons who had won this title 5 times now looks for a spot in the final.

 

Another Kenyan team Pipeline booked a spot in the last four with a dazzling 5 set thriller against Bafia. KPC won 3-2 (25-12, 23-25, 25-14, 23-25, 15-6) to get closer to another continental success.

 

Nkumba University made a light work over Asec Mimosas in a straight sets 3-0 (25-10, 25-9, 25-15) thriller in 9 to 16 playoff.

 

INJS overcame Nyong 3-0 (25-14, 25-9, 25-19) in all Cameroonian contest. The victory means INJS’s ranking will be better off than Nyong. 

 

Chlef from Algeria beat Cameroun’s FAP 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-22) to have a placement in the ranking match of positions 9-12.

 

Vision volleyball camp got their matching orders after beating Harare city 3-1 (25-11, 25-20, 17-25, 25-15) and secured their ranking game for positions 9-12.

 

DGSP of Congo beat Botswana’s BDF 6’ in a dramatic 5 sets thriller 3-2 (25-18, 22-25, 25-11, 23-25, 15-11). BDF finished 19th in the competition.
