Pipeline, Prisons and Bafia book quarterfinals tickets at Women's African Club Champs

2018 Women's African Club Championship- Day 4

 

 

Cairo, Egypt, March 9, 2018 – Kenya giants Pipeline and Prisons beside Cameroon's Bafia booked their rickets to the quarterfinal of the 2018 Women's African Club Championship after competition's Day 4 held at Ahly Halls in Cairo, Egypt on Friday.

 

 The three teams joined their already qualified Carthage of Tunisia who earlier confirmed quarters berth on Thursday.

 

Seven time African champions Pipeline of Kenya confirmed quarterfinal spot with a win against DGSP of Congo Brazzaville. Their 3-0 (25-6, 25-10, 25-13) means DGSP remains at the bottom of pool C.

 

Kenya Prisons of Kenya who have 5 titles under their name booked their qualifications to in Pool D after a 3-1 (25-10, 25-5, 23-25, 25-11) thumping against Burkinabe Douanes.

 

In an exciting 5 sets thriller, Bafia also made it to the quarterfinals in Pool B after winning 3-2 (26-24, 11-25, 21-25, 25-20, 15-12) against BDF 6 of Botswana. Bafia joins Carthage to the last eight from pool B.

 

Nkumba University got their first win after a 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-14) victory against Nyong in Pool A. Nyong are still yet to win a match.

 

Vision of Uganda got their second victory in the competition with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-22) win against FAP of Cameroun. Even with the win, Vision cannot proceed to the last eight.

 

Customs of Nigeria was another team with a win on day 4. They beat Asec Mimosas 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-15). Asec who opens the competition with a win, could not continue with that form.

 

Algeria’s Chlef registered first win of the campaign with an impressive performance against Harare city with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-10) triumph to leapfrogged BDF to 4th position in pool B.
