African Dream Project and All Africa Games format affirmed

Cairo, Egypt, May 18, 2014 – African Volleyball Confederation "CAVB" Board of Administration meeting under the presidency of Dr. Amr Elwani came to a close at in Cairo, Egypt with President Elwani thanking the members for their valuable work and forward thinking.
"Every member here in the board has a very valuable opinion which helps in our general plan and can bring more to our sport." Dr. Amr Elwani said.
Key decisions saw the approval of the implementation of "African dream Project" which will be conducted under the name of FIVB President Dr Ary Graca. The project will start officially within the coming months with all the respective communication in each country with the National Olympic Committee and the local authorities to achieve the goals of the project.
The Board also approved the 2015 All Africa Games format which will show 12 teams qualifying to the finals in Congo. The qualifications will be Zonal with zones 1 and 7 qualifying their champions, while zones 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 will qualify the champions and runner up to the finals. The Board postponed the dates and format for 2016 Olympic qualifier after full study of the international and African calendar.
Other major decisions included the approval of the CAVB Financial Report presented by CAVB Treasurer Habu Gumel and included a review of the 2013 budget and approval of the 2014 financial projects.
Commission presentations were also part of the agenda where Refereeing Commission President Hassan Ahmed showed the great improvement in the number of referees. Other reports for the Sports Organising Committee "SOC", Technical, Medical, Development and Beach Commissions were also approved.
CAVB Beach Director May Alaa showed the 4 year progress since the start of the real activity in 2010. She also featured the Beach Volleyball qualifications in Africa for the age group U17, U19, U21 and U23.
Zone Presidents presented their activity this year including all the competition organised at the club and National team levels and their projects in the coming season.
