Tunis, Tunisia, March 5, 2014- The qualification to the World Championship was till few months ago, like a far dream to the opposite attacker of Congo Brazzaville Nkouka Abrahys, but now it has become nearer to reality as his team continues to second win in 2 matches at the 2014 World Championship qualification tournament Pool V in Tunis, Tunisia.
The motivations became higher for the emerging star who is playing now outside his country in GS Pertoliers in Algeria.
"We are happy to pass the sub zonal and zonal phases of the qualifiers and now we are one step towards the biggest dream to be between the best teams all over the world in Poland.
Nkouka is the key star of his team as he was the top scorer of Congo in both victories of this competition till now and he is also one of the competition best scorers as a whole. He is playing as opposite attacker and forms a very important attacking engine for his team in sending his sharp hits from position 2.
He started playing volleyball while he was a child in 1998, but quickly he was picked up for the Congolese Youth national team while he was less than 15y. Later he played to the junior team in 2002 before he became a constant member of the senior national team since 2007.
"We were concentrating to pass the sub zonal phase, but after we passed this stage we were thinking only to reach the final phase of the qualifiers. Little by little our dreams became more and more and now we are thinking how to beat powerhouses Tunisia to reach the top volleyball event all over the world," He added.
Nkouka have a lot of ambitions in volleyball field, this is to play abroad in Europe in a bigger club to show his talent.
"I started my professional career in Setif of Algeria but I couldn't achieve any title with them. I transferred to Bourj Bouaririj to win a league and 3 cup titles in one of my golden days with volleyball. I shifted to another experiment with Al Arabi of Kuwait but again without titles before I returned back to Algeria to play to GSP since 2 years where I won another league title there.
"It is good to have dreams with volleyball, but it is better to turn those dreams a reality," He concluded.
