Egypt record crucial victory against Kenya as Cape Verde set first win at World Champs qualifier Pool U

Nairobi, Kenya, February 7, 2014- Egypt beat Kenya 3-1 (25-21, 25-22, 21-25, 25-20) in a key match of the second day at African qualifier for the 2014 FIVB Men’s World Championships played at Safaricom Indoor Arena in Nairobi on Friday.

 

The match was crucial as analysts believed winners stand real chances of qualifying for the world event to be held in Poland on August 30 to September 21.

 

Cape Verde beat Zambia 3-1 (25-21, 31-29, 27-29, 25-21) to achieve their first victory.

 

 Cape Verde lost 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-14) to more superior Kenya while Zambia were beaten 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-11) against Botswana on day one of the tournament.
