Kampala Uganda, January 28, 2014-Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) has signed a two year partnership with the Federation of Tunisian Volleyball (FTVB). The deal signed between UVF head Sadik Nasiwu and his Tunisian counterpart Ben Slimane Mourn will have a number of exchange programs over the two years.
National teams, clubs, trainers, referees and administrators are the immediate benefactors. Uganda hopes to benefit from the arrangement ensuring annual participation of two teams (one male one female) at Volleyball tournaments organized by Uganda and vise versa
There is also a provision of FTVB presenting UVF with its development plan in relation to technical training of the teams and coaches. The two parties through their respective technical commissions will ensure exchange of information and discus all matters regarding the challenges and solutions of the game.
UVF and FTVB will meet annually in order to evaluate implementations and levels of their partnership to evaluate the level of the partnership, on top of exchanging information about volleyball development. FTVB will also facilitate the UVF to perform technical, tactical and mental preparations of Ugandan teams and officials. Not to mention friendly games between Uganda and Tunisian teams.
The arrangement also guarantees local transport, accommodation and feeding to the Uganda delegation of 17 people or below. The two parties also agreed to have clubs and national teams take part in each other’s main volleyball tournaments.
Though UVF is yet to confirm Uganda’s representatives (Nkumba, Ndejje, and Nemostars) at the Confederation of Africa Volleyball Club Championships will be the first benefactors from this program. The Maghreb nation will host both the men and women championships in March and April respectively.
