Nairobi, Kenya, January 29, 2014- Kenya National men and women’s volleyball teams started their final preparations at Moi International Sports Center in readiness for forthcoming 2014 FIVB World Championships African Qualifiers in Nairobi.
Kenya hosts men’s Pool U on February 5-11 and women’s Pool U on February 16-23. Winners of each pool qualify for 2014 World Championships to be played in Poland (men) and Italy (women) later this year.
The men’s team trains in Kasarani main gymnasium from 8am to 12pm then break for lunch and resume training from 2pm to 4pm.
The women’s team trains at Kasarani Annex Hall starting 8am to 12pm and second session runs from 2pm to 4pm.
Men’s team coach Gideon Chenje and Women team coach David Lung’aho are optimistic to make it to the finals and showed the consistency of their players during a training session in front of the Kenyan media.
Men's Pool U qualifier features 5 teams where hosts Kenya battle it out with Egypt, Zambia, Cape Verde and Botswana for a World championship vacancy February 5 to 11, 2014.
The Women's qualifiers will show Kenya, Seychelles, Tunisia, Senegal, Mozambique, Cape Verde and Uganda also fighting for a World Championship ticket February 16 to 23, 2014.
