Tunisia to host 2014 Women's African club Championship

Cairo, Egypt, January 24, 2014- African Volleyball Confederation "CAVB" granted Tunisia to host the 2014 Women's African Club Championship from April 17 to 28, 2014 in Carthage, Tunisia.

 

 The competition that attracts the biggest number of teams between all the continental Women championships is expected to feature a new record number of participants that the 16 teams taking part in Kenya 2012.

 

 The 2014 edition will not be a qualifier for the club World Championship according to the World Volleyball Governing body "FIVB" decision last month as Africa lost the direct vacancy in the women's gender.

 

 Now Tunisia will be organising both club championships this year for Men and women after they were earlier honoured to host the Men's side also in Sousse from March 18 to 30, 2014 where the winner earn a direct ticket to the club World Championship in Brazil.

 

 CAVB put February 20 as a deadline to confirm the participation at the competition won By Kenya Prisons in the last 4 editions.
