The African Referees wearing the T shirts that carry I love Egypt

Cairo, Egypt, May 6, 2011- The African referees insisted to visit El Tahrir Square, the place where the Egyptian revolution emerged on January 25th when the Egyptians achieved their goals of resignation of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and removal of his regime.
The referees joined by some teams competing at the 2011 Men’s African Club Championship were happy to see the place where the protests that attracted the world happened and joined some Egyptian youth present at the square the celebrations of their success. The Egyptian international referee Hany Fikry led his colleagues as a guide and showed them all the places that were under the spotlight of all the international TV Channels. The referees wear special T shirts during their tour that carried a slogan “I love Egypt” and took memorial photos with the Egyptian youth present there and with the Army soldiers.
The 2011 Egyptian revolution took place following a popular uprising that began on 25 January 2011. The uprising was mainly a campaign of non-violence civil resistance, which featured a series of demonstrations, marches, acts of civil disobedience, and labour strikes. Millions of protesters from a variety of socio-economic and religious backgrounds demanded the overthrow of the regime of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak which succeeded on February 11th.
