25 October 2013

Lusaka, Zambia, October 22, 2013- Host Zambia claimed the first victory over Swaziland 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-18) in opening day of the 2014 FIVB Women's World Championship Zone 6 qualification tournament (Pool R) in Lusaka, Zambia on Tuesday.

The first day featured also a straight sets victory for Botswana over Namibia (25-9, 25-16, 25-13), while Mozambique fought for more than 2 hour to clinch a tough win over Zimbabwe in the day's only tiebreaker 3-2 (25-18, 25-18, 24-26, 23-25, 15-7).

Zambia entertained their spectators with the first win as their key star Tilabilenji Mvunga did the greatest role through his efficient spikes from all the net positions.

Mozambique played the best game of the opening day specially when they rebounded after Zimbabwe came back from 0-2 to 2-2 as they dominated the tiebreaker to win the tough match 3-2.
