Turkey gear up to host a historic FIVB Men's U21 World Championship

 Izmir, Turkey, August 19, 2013- Everything in Turkey speaks Volleyball language in their preparation to host a historic edition for the FIVB Men's U21 World Championship due to start in the cities of Ankara and Izmir on Thursday August 22 and continue till September 1.



 The organizer put everything in order ahead of the opening ceremony with the two venues receiving the competition matches putting the last touches before the competition gets underway.


In Ankara, Baskent Hall will host Pool A and B matches, while in Izmir, Ataturk Volleyball Hall is ready to receive Pool C and D matches.


 Two years after a great success in hosting a historic edition of the Girls U18 World Championship in 2011 with the organizers gaining their first ever gold medal for the country, Turkey organizers are now more mature to receive the Men's U21 Championship which will be the first to feature 20 participating teams instead of 16 made up of the organizer and 19 qualifiers where more countries have now the opportunity to show their skills against the top players around the world.


 FIVB Control Committee headed by FIVB Executive Vice president André Meyer who will take care of the first venue in Ankara and Philip Berben who will conduct the organizing team in Izmir checked all the court facilities during the first inspection on Monday where they expressed their satisfaction with the organization standard three days before the onset of the competition.


 African champions Tunisia were the first team to arrive to Izmir on August 14 as they were dawn in Pool C along with Serbia, USA, Canada and Rwanda followed by China who will battle in Pool A against host Turkey, Egypt, India and Morocco arriving on August 15.


 Canada arrived on August 17 with Rwanda and USA before host received Argentina, heavy favourite Russia and Japan on Sunday. The rest of the team will be arriving on Tuesday.
