Egypt take on Cameroon in the Men’s African Nations Championship final

Tangier, Morocco, September 28, 2011 – Defending champions Egypt will challenge Cameroon for FIVB World Cup berth when they play the final of the 2011 Men’s African Nations championship in Tangier, Morocco on Thursday to determine the African champions.
 The two African giants play their first ever final together in the history of the top African title to determine the African ticket  at the prestigious World Cup set to take place in Japan from November 20 to December 4. The eventual champions will move onto the Olympic qualifying event, with the top three from there earning a berth at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
 Egypt has five crowns under their name in 1976, 1983, 2005, 2007 and 2009, while Cameroon had two trophies in 1989 and 2001.
 Meanwhile, Algeria face Tunisia for the bronze medal.
 On the other hand the dark horses of the competition Congo Brazzaville continued to shine in the biannual event as they finished fifth following their 3-1 (25-23, 25-22, 18-25, 25-21) win against Morocco who upset their supporters as they finished in the 6 th place.
 South Africa ended their journey in the seventh position after they saw off Botswana 3-1 (25-23, 25-22, 21-25, 26-24) who finished at the bottom of the standings.
 Early on Wednesday FIVB President Jizhong Wei held a press conference in Menzah Hotel during his short visit to Morocco where he talked to the Media about the FIVB support to Africa. He was accompanied by the CAVB President Dr Amr Elwani and Morocco Volleyball Federation President Abdelhadi Ghzali.
5th place match
Congo Brazzaville beat Morocco 3-1 (25-23, 25-22, 18-25, 25-21)
 The host team Morocco upset their spectators when they lost against the glowing Congo Brazzaville team 3-1 (25-23, 25-22, 18-25, 25-21) in the fifth position match. Congo player were more motivated to win as they controlled the match from the start with their efficient centers specially Ngampourou Ilouoni who played his best in the match aided by their big gun the opposite Gildas Kouehassazo. 
7th position match
South Africa beat Botswana 3-1 (25-23, 25-22, 21-25, 26-24)
 South Africa set their competition first victory over Botswana 3-1 (25-23, 25-22, 21-25, 26-24) in the seventh position match. The South African played their best match in the competition specially their opposite Clinton Stemmet who scored the crucial points of the match to allow his team to finish seventh, while Botswana end their journey at the bottom of the table in the eighth position.
