Cameroon capture gold at Men pool F World Championship Qualifier

 

Ndjamena, Chad, July 8, 2013- Cameroon men's Volleyball team captured the gold medal of African Men's Pool F qualification tournament for the 2014 FIVB World Championship following their victory against Congo Brazzaville 3-0 (20-25, 17-25, 19-25) in the third and final day.  

 

The victory improved Cameroon win- loss ratio to 3-0 to win the tournament, while Congo dropped to 2-1 in the second place.

 

 Host Chad set the first win against Gabon in a long Marathon 3-2 (25-19, 23-25, 25-21, 20-25, 15-13) to win the bronze medal leaving Gabon at the bottom of the table.

 

 The four teams of the tournament secured their tickets to the second round of the qualifications which is the zonal phase to be held in October and November 2013 after the withdrawal of RD Congo and Central African Republic.
