Praia, Cape Verde, June 3, 2013 – A Volley All Festival was organised on the Cape Verde islands of São Vicente, Santo Antão, Sal and Santiago on Saturday. The festival is an FIVB initiative, designed to introduce the game to young people and encourage their participation in the grassroots sporting event.
Taking to the streets of Cape Verde, the youngsters were taught basic volleyball techniques by local instructors. The FIVB also made available Cool Volley kits and specially adapted volleyballs for all the participants.
The concept of Volley All Festival is to give National Federations the opportunity to participate in an annual festival through which they can develop volleyball and beach volleyball. The aim is to encourage worldwide participation in an event where people can take part in a fun, enjoyable and competitive environment.
The mission of the Volley All Festival is to encourage each National Federation the occasion to organise an annual event, which combines the promotion of sports, youth interest, and media at the local and international level.
