Egypt claimed the fifth consecutive title - Day 3

15 March 2013

Abuja, Nigeria, Match 15, 2013- Egypt team claimed their fifth consecutive trophy after they won the 2013 Women's Junior (U 20) African Nations Championship held  in Abuja, Nigeria on Friday following the straight sets victory over Algeria (25- 21, 25-22, 25-11) in the third and final day.

Egypt gained the title in 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010 before securing the fifth title in raw this year.

The final showed Egyptian dominance through the experience of their players in the attacks beside the proper defence.

Egypt won their two matches against host Nigeria before taking over Algeria to improve to 2-0 and gain the cup, while Algeria came second (1-1) and Nigeria third (0-2), but the three teams secured their vacancies at the FIVB Women Junior World Championship to be held in Czech Republic next June.
