VCP teachers course starts in Swaziland

Mbabane, Swaziland, March 13, 2013 – A VCP teachers course is currently being organised by the National Volleyball Federation of Swaziland. President Eric Sibanda spearheaded the course to help the integration of volleyball in schools throughout the country.

 The five day course has attracted 21 school teachers, including three women who are being instructed on volleyball teaching techniques under the leadership of Course Director, Mr. Alemayehu Shoatatek from Ethiopia.

The goal is motivate teachers to improve their techniques in the delivery and practical demonstration of basic skills to school children. The purpose is also to develop their theoretical and practical application of volleyball techniques in order to promote the sport at all ages and levels of competition.

 The course includes both theoretical and practical parts held at the Africa Olympic center. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from the National Olympic Committee as well as the National Sports Council.  

It will close on Friday with a youth festival involving 10 schools.

The course is the first VCP course for many years in Swaziland and is aimed at primary and secondary school teachers
