Uganda Volleyball President on National Olympic Committee

Kampala, Uganda, March 12,2013- Last, Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) President Sadik Nasiwu lost two Godfrey Nuwagaba to the of treasurer in the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC). However, the former Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club power attack has found his way to the executive after he was part of the entire executive that was unopposed into office last week. Sadik got the blessing after former UOC members Salim Musoke and Gabriel Oloka withdrew their intentions to run for office as executive members. “Being in the UOC executive is a stepping stone, but am sure a come in with a lot of experience if you are go with what I have achieved as person and as a sports administrator,” Sadik said. “Volleyball is among the four active federations in the country and UVF being represented on the executive will take Volleyball places.” Sadik has followed in the footsteps of his UVF predecessor Tom Omongole (RIP) and he believes his service and experience in Volleyball will play a part as he spreads the wings out to other Olympic sports. “UVF has fostered management skills, which have seen volleyball spread across the country and we are still reaching out to many people.” Moses Mwase, Sheila Agonzibwa and Sharifah Sanyu joined Sadik, as the other executive members. Sadik’s president William Blick will be serving his first full term after acting for the past nine month has vowed to take Ugandan sports to greater heights as he starts his first tenure as the body’s fourth president. Blick and some members of his executive have tasted the waters before, a period he as described as tough test. “The last nine months have been challenging.” “It is in our best interest to take Africa and the world by storm,” Blick side in his victory speech.
