Uganda, February 26, 2013- Dickens Otim started the quest for his second straight Club Beer National Beach Volleyball Circuit on a high note.
Teaming up with Ambrose Otwao, Otim remained the highest ranked player locally after he finished fourth at the Burundi International.
The performance in Burundi came with 70 points for Otim on top of the 275 from last season, taking his tally to 395 points. Otwao whose performance from last season guaranteed him 230 points, is second on 350.
Last season’s fourth seed Emma Kato jumped to third with 343 points after winning the first leg of the beach circuit at Lido Beach on Sunday 2.eleşya .
Kato teamed up with Nicholas Dheyongera as they defeat Hannington Nsubuga and Isaac Omedo 2-1 (21-14, 19-21, 15-11) in the final. Prossy Alobo’s steady pairing with Hafsa Nakalema is likely to give reigning champions Sheila Omuriwe and Maggie Nambasa a run for their money.
Their spirited performance paid off as they brought down Josephine Nammanda and Diana Agaba 2-1 (16-21, 21-18, 15-5) to win the 2.eleşya women’s circuit. They go joint top of the women’s national rankings with 283points each.
