CAVB Coaches Commission meets in Cairo

Cairo, Egypt, January 18, 2013- The African Volleyball Confederation "CAVB" Coaches Commission started its meeting in Cairo, Egypt on Friday in its first presentation after its new formation.



 The commission presided by Sherif El Shemerly from Egypt who is also FIVB Instructor, discussed a lot of future ideas to improve the coaches performance throughout the continent.


 Among other important issues the commission discussed was the High Performance Seminar which will be welcoming its third edition this year after two successful editions in Egypt 2011 and Morocco 2012. The seminar welcome annually the highest level of coaches in Africa specially those who are conducting their national teams at the world class championships. Rwanda is a candidate to organize this year's edition and Egypt will be the substitute.


 The commission proposed to organize 4 courses for grassroots, two of them in English and the others in French. Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria and Ghana are candidates for the English courses, while Senegal and Algeria are ready for the French ones.


 El Shemerly presented also the proposal of Coaching Aid Program which will depend on the nomination of two teams of experienced coaches to work for men and women teams.


 CAVB Executive Director proposed to organize two or three courses for the beach volleyball coaches centrally by CAVB in different continental regions to enhance the national federations to take care of this important aspect after the improvement of this kind of volleyball happened in the last few years.


 The meeting was attended by Sherif Elshemerly (Egypt), Blaise Mayam (Cameroon), Oghuma-Eghiemai Tony (Nigeria), Mostafa Ahchouche (Morocco), Bernard Denise (Seychelles), Adam Kpenoukoundehou (Benin), CAVB Executive Director Howyda Mondy and CAVB Beach Director May Alaa.
