Subject: 2014 World Championship Qualifications
Dear Mr. President,
In the last FIVB Annual SOC meeting, it was confirmed that Africa will be granted 3 places in the Men’s category and 2 places in the Women’s category at the 2014 FIVB World Championships.
Accordingly, the CAVB SOC meeting, (which was held in November 2012), has finalized with details, the formula and the qualifications process which will allow all NF's to participate.
The African Qualification would be played through 3 phases : Sub-zonal , zonal and FINAL phase ( where Sub-Zonal will be organized with 4 to 5 countries )
The CAVB will apply the similar successful experience of Beach Volleyball Continental Cup in order to reach 47 participating NFs and it is proposed that :
Each organizer will receive a subsidize from 6 up to 10 thousand US dollars
(according to the number of participant teams )
and participating NFs up to 2.5 to 4 thousand US dollars
Final confirmation of such proposal will be confirmed by the forthcoming CAVB Board meeting. Based on the number of teams ,budgeting , etc… )
As FIVB has extended the deadline for 2014 World Championship Registration till 15th of January 2013, therefore, we are looking forward to your efforts to encourage all your zone's National Federations to register Men & Women senior teams to the 2014 World Championships Qualifications without any obligations on the National Federation.
Attached, you will find the Registration Forms which should be duly completed and submitted to the CAVB and FIVB .
This will allow CAVB and its Board to provide NFs with the best possible support and decisions based on the increased number of participants.
With best regards,
Dr. Amr ELWANI
