Nairobi, Kenya, October 1, 2012 - Middle blocker Diana Khisa will captain Kenya Prisons volleyball team during the FIVB World Women’s Clubs Championships to be held in Doha, Qatar on October 13-19.
Khisa was named captain of the African and Kenyan champions when head coach David Lung’aho unveiled his final squad of 12 that features six players who are regulars for the national team.
Khisa will play at the center position alongside inspirational attacker and national team player Bracksides Agala, Dorcas Chepleting and Joan Chelagat.
Prisons team has five regular players of the national team and they are Jane Wacu, Khisa, Agala, Lydia Maiyo, Everline Makutu and Mercy Moim.
Notable exclusion in the team unveiled in Nairobi on Sunday are veteran libero Judy Tarus and upcoming Florence Bosire who were both part of Prisons team during the 2011 Championships at the same venue.
The selected team include: Jane Wacu, Salome Wanjala (setters); Lydia Maiyo, Loice Chepleting (right attackers); Diana Khisa, Bracksides Agala, Dorcas Chepleting, Joan Chelagat (centres); Mercy Moim, Everline Makuto, Jane Chepkemboi (left attackers); Elizabeth Wafula (libero).
