Anaheim, USA, September 20, 2012 – The presidents of TV and New media, press and technical commissions presented their respective reports for the period of 2010-12 to the World Congress in Anaheim, USA on Thursday showing remarkable echoes about their vital contribution to the sport.
TV and New Media Commission President Peter Diamond figured out the extraordinary TV success throughout London Olympic Games making the sport one of the most popular during prestigious event. He appreciated the work done by OBS for the excellent coverage of the Games. He said that TV broadcasters will be evaluated for important improvements to future production and broadcasting maters where FIVB properties are concerned.
Press commission President Hiroshi Takeuchi showed the tremendous growth and increased productivity in the FIVB Department work and the introduction of more initiatives to better serve the sport.
“2011 showed the launch of the weekly online electronic newsletter to keep volleyball people regularly updated with FIVB news on a weekly basis,” Takeuchi said.
He pointed out the importance of the support coming from the confederation and NFs press officers to give their regular supply with news to the FIVB web site and the regular publications.
He showed the great progress in the FIVB web site that was reflected by significant increase in the visitors. The publications also showed a lot of improvement through the new- look design depending on increasing the attraction to the sport. Finally he enumerated the recommendations approved by the FIVB Board to further facilitate the press operations.
Technical Commission President Prof Hiroshi Toyoda described the work done to enhance FIVB’s wide range of technical and teaching materials whether on paper or electronic form that achieved highly visible and tangible results. He showed the improvement of the teaching material resulting in a publication of the new coaches’ manual which has become available in English, French and Spanish. He featured also the FIVB- homologated Sports equipments and the increased manufacturers specially in terms of the flooring.
