Final Prisons battle past Pipeline to retain African Club Champs title

Nairobi, Kenya, May 17, 2012- Kenya Prisons team beat Pipeline in straight sets of 25-20, 27-25, 25-16 to retain CAVB African Women’s Clubs Championships following a thrilling final at Moi International Sports Center Nairobi on Saturday in front of more than 6000 spectators.

The victory which is Prisons fourth and three in a row means the wardresses will represent Africa in this year’s FIVB World Clubs Championships to be staged in Doha, Qatar in October.

 Prisons won the title three times before in 2008, 2010 and 2011 and represented Africa in the prestigious World Championship twice in Qatar in the last two years.

Chlef of Algeria beat FAP of Cameroon in straight sets of 25-17, 25-22, 25-23 in a play-off match to bag bronze.
