Nairobi, Kenya, May 14, 2012- Kenya teams Prisons and Pipeline, FAP of Cameroon, Algeria’s Chlef, Madagascar’s Stef Auto Botswana’s Mafolofolo, RDC Motema Pembe and Rwanda Revenue Authority qualified for quarter-finals of the 2012 Women’s African Club Championship after the fifth and last day of the preliminary round held at Nairobi, Kenya on Monday.
All quarter-final matches will be staged at Moi International Sports Center on Wednesday (May 16). Pipeline meet Motema Pembe, Mafolofolo play Chlef, Defending champions Prisons face Revenues Authority and Stef Auto line up against FAP.
In Pool ‘A’, Kenya Pipeline beat Nkumba University of Uganda 3-0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-15) to finish atop the group and advance to the quarters at Moi International Sports Center gymnasium.
In Pool ‘B’ FAP overcame Canon of Congo 3-1 (25-27, 26-24, 25-16, 25-19) in a four set thriller to qualify for the quarter-finals during a match at African Nazarene University.
In Pool ‘C’, Rwanda Revenue Authority beat host team Kenya Commercial Bank 3-1 (28-26, 25-22, 27-25, 26-24) in an explosive match to advance to the quarter-finals.
