Defending Champions Prisons maintain winning rhythm at tournament

 Day 2 

 Nairobi, Kenya, May 11, 2012- Defending champions Kenya Prisons won their second straight match in the second day of the 2012 Women’s African Clubs Championships in Nairobi, Kenya on Friday.

The second day of the Championships saw teams up their game in bid to collect more points to help them advance to the next phase of the competition.

Rwanda Revenue Authority announced their presence in the tournament victoriously when they defeated Stella of Cote d Ivoire in straight sets in their first pool match.

Pool A

After falling on the first day of the competition, Nkumba University of Uganda gathered efforts to beat Manga Sport of Gabon in straight sets of 25-13, 25-18, 25-20 at Moi International Sports Center. The result brought Nkumba’s win-loss record to 1-1 while Manga dropped to 0-2.

Pool B

 Kenya Prisons proved unstoppable after they beat inexperienced Jeshi Stars of Tanzania 25-10, 25-15, 25-11 to achieve their second victory at Nazarene University. The victory improved Prisons win-loss record to 2-0 in the Pool ‘B’ while Jeshi dropped to 0-2.

Pool C

Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) started the competition on promising note after their youthful side lead by enterprising Regina beat Stella of Cote d Ivoire in straight sets of 25-20, 25-21, 25-10 in an entertaining match at MISC. RRA cheered on by partisan Kenyan fans were outstanding throughout the match with Regina Izabayo and Mukantambara Seraphine who rocked Stella’s defense with powerful attacks to carry the day. Pool D

Daring Club Motema Pembe of DR Congo clinched their first victory of the tournament after they beat DGSP of Congo Brazaville 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-16) at Nazarene University. DGSP record comes to 1-1 while Motema dropped to 0-2.
