Mozambique, South Africa lead boys, as Egypt emerge in girls at CAVB Beach Cup

2018 CAVB U19 Beach Cup- Day 2

 

 

 Kinshasa, Congo DR, April 22, 2018- Mozambique led Pool A as South African led Pool B at boys U19 CAVB Beach Cup held in Kinshasa, Congo DR on Monday.

 

 In the Girls' event, Egypt led Pool A, while Mozambique led Pool B at the end of the Group stage of the competition.

 

On day 2 of the Boys competition Algeria beat Congo DR 2-1 (21-19, 14-21, 15-10), while Egypt defeated Algeria 2-1 (19-21, 21-17, 15-12) in Pool A.

 

 Mozambique took on Algeria 2-0 (23-21, 21-11), Egypt topped Congo DR 2-0 (21-10, 21-7). Then Algeria cruised past Tunisia 2-1 (21-10, 18-21, 15-12). Mozambique beat Congo DR 2-0 (21-9, 21-13).

 

 Pool B showed Morocco beat Cameroon 2-0 (21-2, 21-10) and South Africa hammmer Sudan 2-0 (21-8, 21-14). Congo took on Cameroon 2-0 (21-7, 21-7) and South Africa trounced Morocco 2-1 (22-20, 19-21, 15-12). Again Cameroon took on Sudan 2-1 (19-21, 21-7, 16-14).

 

 In the Girls championship Egypt beat Algeria 2-0 (21-17, 21-13), Morocco crashed Cameroon 2-0 (21-14, 21-14), Mozambique defeated Sudan 2-0 (21-2, 21-6), Egypt again defeated Congo DR 2-0 (21-14, 21-19), Morocco took on Mozambique 2-0 (21-7, 21-19), Cameroon beat Sudan 2-0 (21-6, 21-6).

 

 The top 5 teams in both genders will book their tickets to the FIVB U19 Beach VB World championship.
