Cairo, Egypt, May 6, 2012- The African volleyball Confederation “CAVB” Development Commission started its meeting at the CAVB Headquarters on Sunday, presided by Nasiwu Sadik (Uganda) and attended by CAVB President Dr Amr Elwani.
Elwani started the meeting by a welcome speech to all the attendance and pointed out that this is the first time ever for the CAVB Development Commission to have an ordinary meeting after its formation during the 2011 CAVB Congress in Sudan. He concentrated on the fact that the development constitutes the main part of the improvement of the sport in Africa.
“We will see today how Africa have started the long road towards the development of the sport in the three main levels, namely at the NFs, the continental Zones and the whole continental level,” Said Elwani.
“I’m asking the commission members to do their best to discuss every corner stone in favour of our sport to present these proposals to the board and get more tools of development.”
CAVB Executive Director Mrs Howyda Mondy presented the 2009- 2012 CAVB Strategic Plan and pointed out that Africa achieved about 90% of the goals of this project till now. She showed also the implemented CAVB Courses since 2010.
