Flic en Flac, Mauritius, April 14, 2012- Angola’s Key beach volleyball star Eden Squeira was interviewed by the media during his participation in the finals of the CAVB Continental Cup finals. The 2011 All Africa Games silver medalist declared his happiness to shift to Beach Volleyball since 2008.
“I switched to Beach VB in 2008, and today it is a true pleasure to represent Angola in the Continental Final Cup. I am glad that CAVB has organized this competition since 2010. It has allowed the development of international BVB in Africa and given us the chance to participate. It is my dream to be active player at the FIVB World Tour, and this is my chance, it will begin here from the CCUP,” he added.
It was the same pathway for South Africa star Freedom Chiya who represented his country at the indoor volleyball. The All Africa Games gold medalist was happy also to compete for the Olympic slot.
“To reach the Olympics is confirmation of our victory in Mozambique,” he said. “It is an honour to be present in the final phase of the Continental Cup which is the peak of African beach volleyball competitions. All teams have been well prepared and all want to represent Africa in Olympic Games in London.
The Mixed Zone of the CCUP final has become a central point for this event. It is Situated in a triangular spot between the Centre Court, the main entrance of the venue and the Practice Courts. It attracts regularly the reporters and all kinds of media.
