Flic en Flac, Mauritius, April 14, 2012- All Africa Games finalists South Africa and Angola repeated their face off crucial after both teams secured their tickets to the final of the CAVB Continental Cup held at Flic en Flac beaches in Mauritius on Saturday.
South Africa defeated Congo Brazzaville in their semifinal match, while Angola took over the strong Nigerian team.
The African giants will meet on Sunday in an extraordinary final where the winner secures a direct ticket to the 2012 London Olympic Games. South Africa struggles to ensure their superiority after they won the last combat at the 2011 All Africa Games final, while Angola seeks the revenge to qualify for the Olympic for the second time.
South Africa was dominant in their matches. Their tight blocks at the net and consistent defence in the backline were the key in taking out their opponents Congo 4-0 to qualify to the finals.
The Angolans overwhelmed the Nigerians in another tough encounter 4-0. Nigeria’s pairing of Jeffry/Adamu had difficulty finding their rhythm to get a side out against the Sequeira brothers. It was a better show between Abreu/Silva and Ijigba/Goodluck. The crowd thought it would see a battle since these teams met up in the last round with only a Golden set separating the two. This time around Angola took control of their matches also winning 4-0.
