CAVB President Elwani honoured the Cameroonian Prime Minister with the highest golden cross

 Yaoundé, Cameroon, October 12, 2017- CAVB President Dr Amr Elwani had a fruitful meeting with the Cameroonian Prime Minister Philemon Yang in his office during the attendance of the 2017 Women's African Nations Championship in Yaoundé.  


 CAVB President Dr. Amr Elwani reaffirmed his commitment to growing volleyball in Cameroon, as it is one of the most active National Federations in the continent.


 He promised the prime Minister to supply all the technical support to Cameroon in their new "Volleyball at school" project.


 Elwani appreciated the work done by Cameroon VB Federation to organise three big competitions in 18 months as they hosted the African Olympic Qualifiers in February 2016, the first weekend of the 2017 World Grand Prix in July and finally the 2017 Women's African championship now.


“The atmosphere at the Women’s African Nations Championship is phenomenal, and it has fantastic in spectator attendance,” Elwani said. “We should work together to give these fans the opportunity to enjoy more events here."


 The Prime Minister promised to promote volleyball projects across the country and give more financial support to volleyball as a popular sport in the Cameroon.


 At the end of the meeting, Dr Elwani honoured the Prime Minister with the highest CAVB Golden Cross for his great interest to volleyball and the project he implemented for the sport in the 12 governorates of the country.
