 Yaoundé, Cameroon, October 10, 2017- CAVB President Dr. Amr Elwani has expressed his excitement about the future of volleyball in Cameroon after he was received by the Cameroonian Minister of Sports Mr Bidoung Mkpatt in the Ministry during the attendance in the 2017 Women's African Nations championship which is now underway in Yaoundé.


 President Elwani discussed the development of volleyball in Cameroon with the Minister of Sport considering the West African Country as one of the most promising country in both Volleyball and Beach VB fields.


 Elwani said that CAVB is in continuous supervision to Volleyball development across the continent and following the great work done by the authorities in Cameroon to support Volleyball.


 He appreciated the work done by the Ministry of Sports in the volleyball infrastructure, which is essential for development of the sport specially the Palais des Sports Hall in Yaoundé. The hall is hosting now the Women's African Nations Championship that also doubles as 2018 World championship qualifier.


 Elwani talked also about the importance of volleyball as a popular sport in Cameroon to attract the children from 8 to 16 years. It is important to transfer this passion to this age category and avoid the dangers of abnormal behaviours away from the sport.


Cameroon Minster of Sport appreciated the work done by CAVB under the presidency of Dr Elwani and he promised to continue the project implemented for the children all over the country across the 12 governorates.


 He expressed his happiness to see Cameroon volleyball growing now specially at the Women's side where the women's team qualified to the 2016 Rio Olympic games and reaching now to the semifinal spot at the ongoing African championship.
