Kenya to host the 2011 Women’s African Nations Championship

 Cairo, Egypt, June 14, 2011- The African volleyball Confederation (CAVB) granted the organization of the 2011 Women’s African Nations Championship in Nairobi, Kenya 17 to 24 August. The competition will be qualifying to the 2011 FIVB World Cup.

 CAVB Determined the 15th of July as a deadline for participation in the top competition of the women volleyball in the continent.

 Kenya is a regular competitor in continental tournaments, with the Kenyan champions Prisons ready to represent the continent in the 2011 Club World Championship and the national team having 6 titles as African champions under their name. The central African country organized the African Club championship early this year and they also hosted the prestigious African championship for the last time in 2007.

 The 2011 African champions will secure the African ticket in the FIVB World Cup. Algeria is the defending champions in the last edition in 2009.
