Cairo, Egypt, March 13, 2012- The African Volleyball Confederation “CAVB” confirmed the dates for the indoor volleyball and beach volleyball competitions in this busy Olympic year as the volleyball season starts with the 2012 Men’s African Club Championship in Tunisia to be held April 21 to 30. The women club championship dates were modified to be organized in Nairobi, Kenya May 10 to 19.The four age group Championships will be hosted by Nigeria for the Women’s Junior African Nations Championship August 15 to 21, while Morocco hosts the Men’s Junior August 25 to September 2. Egypt was chosen to organize the Girls Youth championship September 5 to 12 and finally Burkina Faso will organize their first ever Continental Championship when they host the Boys Youth African Nations Championship October 3 to 11. In Beach Volleyball the Men’s CAVB Continental Cup finals will be held April 14 to 16 in Mauritius, while the women’s final will be hosted by Rwanda May 24 to 26. The first ever African Youth and Junior Beach Volleyball Championships for both genders will be held in two stages, the first will be the zonal qualifications that should be finalized before April 10. The finals of those competitions will be organized ahead of May 15. The top 6 teams in each gender will qualify to the finals of the World championship of each category.
