Etoile d Sahel, Bouaririj book quarterfinal tickets at Men's Club Championship

 

 Tunis, Tunisia, March 19, 2017- Tunisia's Etoile du Sahel and Algeria's Bourj Bouaririj booked their tickets to the Quarterfinal of the 2017 Men's African Club Championship following their straight victories over Espoir of Congo and Assarya of Libya in Day 3 of the held at Taraji Hall in Tunis, Tunisia on Sunday. There will be 6 other slots in the quarters to be confirmed in Day 4 and 5 of the preliminary round.

 

 Etoile du Sahel hammered Espoir (RD Congo) 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-15) in a quiet fast game in Pool D to mark 2-0 in win- loss ratio before their last match on Tuesday against Police of Benin.

 

Bourj Bouaririj worked hard to beat Assarya 3-0 (25-22, 25-29, 25-22) in a thrilling match full of spirit to improve their record to 3-0 and 9 points to confirm a quarterfinal ticket form Pool C ahead of their last match against Police of Botswana. In the same pool Rwanda's University of Kibungo overcame Espoir VI of Botswana 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-22) to score the first victory.

 

 Pool A featured a grueling victory for Ahly Beni Ghazi (Libya) over Bafia (Cameron) 3-2 (25-27, 25-18, 25-21, 32-34, 15-9) to regain hopes of second round ticket.

 

FAP of Cameroon scored second straight win against Finances (Benin) 3-1 (25-12, 25-13, 25-27, 25-16) in Pool B to improve to 2-0 but still waiting for other results to confirm qualifications.
