African Volleyball dreams starts with the meeting for the elected CAVB Board

Cairo, Egypt, February 16, 2012- The African Volleyball Confederation “CAVB” Board of Administration carries the dreams of the continental volleyball when they meet for the first time on Friday and Saturday February 17- 18 February, 2012 after the election of the board in the CAVB Congress last December in Khartoum.
The board will put the strategy of African Volleyball in the coming two years with the calendar of events for both volleyball and beach volleyball as the main item of the agenda.
CAVB will organize 6 volleyball competitions in 2012, namely the men’s and women’s African club championships in April and the four age group African Nations championships; junior men and women, and the youth boys and girls in August and September.
The main beach volleyball activity in 2012 is the finals of the CAVB Beach volleyball Continental Cup in June which is the qualification process to 2012 London Olympic Games.
One of the most ambitious items of the board agenda is the approval of the list of CAVB courses proposal for the three main categories Coaches, Referees and management.
Each of the continental 7 zones will present a proposal for the activities during 2012 as well as the competitions to be organized as qualifications for the continental championships.
The board also will approve the formation of the CAVB Commissions for the new mandate that will conduct the activity till the elections in 2015.
“It will be a very proactive meeting for our board because we carry the dreams of African volleyball in the near future,” said CAVB President Dr Amr Elwani 24 hours ahead of the meeting. “We will assign the jobs for all the board member so that the decisions can come with a democratic way because it will be a sum of all the board opinions. One of the main items to be discussed is to continue out development plan that started with great success last year.” He added.
