Karatu, Tanzania, December 20, 2011- Tanzania Volleyball Federation organized their first National Refereeing Course in Karatu last week.
The event attracted 28 participants from Manyara and Arusha regions mostly teachers from Primary and Secondary school to take part in the first ever local national referees course.
The course ended on Saturday December 17 whereby the passed participants will be accredited as national referees. It was instructed by the local referee and sports administrator Muharam Mchume.
The Filbert Bayi Foundation sponsored the course and helped the catering for the food and accommodation for the participants. This comes as a part of the Volleyball Development Project in Tanzania.
Tanzania has no International referees now and since the 90s and this course will be a new gate to start building up of refereeing power in Tanzania.
