Maputo, Mozambique, – The Mozambique Volleyball Federation celebrated two Volley All Festivals during September with over 2,000 children in total being introduced to volleyball.
Volley All Festivals are designed to give national federations the chance to participate in an annual festival through which they can develop both volleyball and beach volleyball. A mass event, it also allows them to introduce new youngsters to the sport.
Nampula was the first city to welcome the initiative on September 19 with 800 children taking part before another event was held in the capital of Maputo on September 25 with a total of 1,300 children.
General feedback was positive and the Federation already has aims to develop competitions between schools at provincial level, improve the quality of training and involve school students in other national competitions.
