Disqualification
of Pipelines and Prisons Alleged Players
Nairobi, Kenya, April 3, 2009- The control Committee of
the 2009 Women’s African Club Championship decided late
on Thursday to exclude three players from Kenya
Pipelines team Janet Wanja, Asha Makuto and Lucy Chige
and two players from Prisons of Kenya Esther Mwombe and
Jane Wacu from the competition and the results of the
matches where these players participated in during the
preliminary round of the competition will be reversed
and the mensioned teams looses the match 3-0.
As both teams end the first round at the top of their
pools with three victories in a row, Pipeline will lose
the three matches to finish at the fourth position of
the pool A to play for 9 to 16 positions, while Prisons
that finished also at the top of Pool B will lose two
matches of the three they won because they didn’t field
the players in question in the third match to come also
in the fourth position and play for the 9-16 positions.
The program of the quarterfinal will be changed
accordingly as follow:

Al Ahly (Egypt) vs. Water Sports (Ethiopia)
Bafia (Cameroon) vs. Injis (Cameroon)

VC Club (Congo) vs. Canon Ndjili (Congo)
Federal Prisons (Ethiopia) vs. Pipelines (Kenya)
Les AS (Burundi) vs. Jadida (Morocco)
Kampala (Uganda) vs. Prisons (Kenya)
