Egypt, October 29, 2008- The African volleyball confederation
(CAVB) rescheduled the 2008 Girls Youth African Nations
Championship for the players, born on 1st of January 1992 or
after to be held 28-31 December 2008.
The competition which was supposed to be held in Tunisia from
18-26 September 2008, and has been postponed because of scholar
circumstances will be qualifying to the 2009 FIVB Girls Youth
World Championship in Mexico.

Africa granted two vacancies at the forthcoming World
Championship in stead of only one slot in the 2006 World
Championship.
The e increased number of African teams in the FIVB age group
competitions is considered as a big support from the World
volleyball governing body as Africa had already now 8 places in
the next year World age category championship.
The defending champions Tunisia, who represented the continent
in the 2008 Girls Youth World Championship in Mexico, are
considered the biggest contenders for this year’s title with the
runner up Egypt and Algeria.
