Nigeria and Kenya to Final Spot

Abuja, Nigeria, September 13-: The host team Nigeria and the runner up of the last competition Kenya secured the final vacancies in the fifteenth Women's African Nations Championship here in the indoor Hall of the National Stadium of Abuja, Nigeria after their victories over the defending champions Egypt and Tunisia respectively in the semifinal matches on Monday.
In a match full of thrills, Nigeria used the home crowd to claim a 3-1 victory (25-17, 20-25, 25-23, 26-24) over Egypt in 103 minutes of exciting volleyball. Nigeria was dominant in all net actions to lead from the start using the weak Egyptian back line defense. The second set was the best for Egypt when they used the strong spikers Ingy El Shamy and Hagar Badr to win the set before Nigeria controlled the match through their solid block to win the third and fourth sets comfortably.
In one of the most exciting matches of the competition, Kenya used the experienced stars Emily Chemutay and Ndasaba Dorcas to pull off a narrow victory 3-2 (25-15, 21-25, 20-25, 25-10, 15-13) over the emerging Tunisia in 99 minutes. Tunisia showed high quality volleyball through the stars Rafrafi and El Ghoul but the experience settled the match for the Kenyan team.
Nigeria will meet Kenya in the final on Wednesday while Egypt plays Tunisia for the bronze medal on Tuesday.
