DAY TWO
TUNISIA SETS FIRST VICTORY


Tunis, Tunisia, January 6-: The host team, Tunisia achieved the first victory over Algeria in the second day of the African qualification tour here in Tunisia to lead the favorites in the four teams' competition. Although the match ended in straight sets 25-21, 25-18, 25-16, but it was very exciting in presence of 1200 spectators leaded by Zeribi Mohamed, the General Director of Sports in Tunisia. The host team led from the start by their solid block and successful spikes of Noureddine Hfeiedh 8-5 and 16-12. Algeria team adjusted their block to enter the match again decreasing the point deficit to 23-21 before losing 25-21 in 17 minutes.

In the second set Algeria started actively using the talented spikes of Guemmadi Hichem to lead 3-1 but Tunisia used the artistry of their setter Ghazi Guidara to regain their lead 16-12 then end the set 25-18 in 21 minutes. In the third set the depressed Algerian players couldn't stop the Tunisian guns by the net to lose 25-16 in 19 minutes.

The Organizing committee took samples for Doping Control as asked by FIVB.
