AFRICAN OLYMPIC QUALIFICATION TOUR:
NIGERIA WOMEN SEEK OLYMPIC SPOT

Nigeria women volleyball team started last week the preparation to the African qualification tour in Kenya, 7- 10 January 2003 in an attempt to add a new achievement for this generation after the first ever victory for Nigerian women volleyball when they won the gold medal of All Africa Games in their homelands last October. The head coach, Oghuma Eghiemai chooses three experienced players to lead the team in the Olympic Qualification, who are team captain Chinyere Onuoha, Spiker Priscilla Agera and Christiana Amadi. They were all in the team which had the All Africa Games Gold medal. The team will play some friendly matches with some men clubs in Nigeria before going ahead to Nairobi, Kenya to participate in the qualification. The head coach stated that the players have high spirit to reach the Olympic Games for the first time in the history of their country.
