AHLY LEADS THE AFRICAN WOMEN’S CUP OF CLUBS
INJS OF CAMEROON ACHIEVES THE FIRST SURPRISE



El-Ahly women team of Egypt leads the African Cup of Clubs’ champions defeating Mouloudia of Algeria 3/0(25/22-25/18-25/13) in the first day of the competition. Injs of Cameroon achieves the first surprise winning the decisive match against its home team 3/2(20/25-25/18-24/26-25/13-16/14) in the most exciting matches in the first day of the competition. Pipeline of Kenya defeated Tihad sportive of Morocco 3/1(25/13-24/26-25/18-25/13).
CAVB President Dr. Amr Elwani started the competition after the opening ceremony, which was attended by all the delegations and CAVB members. The organizing committee refused to accept the participation of other 3 teams ASEC of Cote d’Ivoire, VEDCMP OF RD OF Congo and Inter Club of Congo Brazzaville because they sent they sent their registration after the deadline date determined before. The first day ensured what was expected before that this competition would be the strongest ever in African women volleyball history as all the matches showed fantastic volleyball especially from El-Ahly and pipeline teams. The match between the 2 Cameroon teams was the most exciting as Sonel team was one of the strongest teams and favored to win the cup but they lost 3/2 in two hours. The Morocco team Tihad showed a good performance in the first presentation of any African women championship but lost hardly against the experienced Pipeline players as most of them were in the Kenyan national team. El-Ahly the Organizer team supported by big number of spectators won its match against Mouloudia after an exciting first set due to the high performance of the superstar Tahany tosson the best spiker in Afria in the last decade, but the second and third sets were more easy. The Algerian players showed good performance specially the young aged Fayza Thabet and the spiker Khadiga
