AFRICAM NATIONS CHAMPIONSHIP:
5 TEAMS COMPETE FOR 2 WORLD
CHAMPIONSHIP VACANCIES
Durban, South Africa September 28-: Five African teams will
compete for two continental vacancies in 2005 Boys U-19 World
Championship when they meet together in the 8th Boys U-19
African Nations Championship in Durban, South Africa.
The defending champions, Egypt comes as one of the most favorite
for the title with Tunisia, which came second in the last
competition in Morocco 2002. The latter wants to have a second
World Championship spot after they had a place in Men’s U-21
World Championship two weeks ago.
Algeria, South Africa and Sudan will compete also for the first
World Championship ticket in their history.
The Organizing committee put the competition system in the form
of round robin where the first two teams will qualify
automatically to the world championship with another ticket for
the African organizer, supposed to be Algeria.
Tunisia will meet the organizers; South Africa and Egypt will
play Sudan in competition day one on Tuesday.
